The carp is a hardy freshwater fish and the largest member of the minnow family. A native of Asia, the carp was introduced into Europe and America and has become well established.

This carp is a monster! You won't find another true image of a real carp on the internet like this. Give your fishing lodge, office, or Lake Home an unexpected conversation piece.

PLEASE NOTE: this carp is on Tan stock. The cream stock shown in the other 3 pictures is sold out.

GYOTAKU are considered a thoughtful gift and are believed to bring good luck not only to fishermen but business people as well. The process is fairly simple: Pigment is applied to a real fish. Then paper is carefully touched to the fish. The print is pulled and a detailed mirror image results. I then paint the eye. Several images may be made from the same fish, but no two are ever exactly alike. Each piece is created in a smoke and pet free studio.
This unframed Carp GYOTAKU (fish rubbing) was made on 23 X 35 inch heavy tan cover stock and is a one of a kind original. The carp measures 32 inches and is swimming to the right. I identify the fish, sign each and supply a certificate of authenticity and other details of the art. Please see reviews for testimonials.
