Beautiful old Breyer horse, black and white pinto, western pony mold / model #41, glossy, with black western snap on saddle, and metal chain for reins. Most likely was part of set #341 (1954-1957) which would have included a cowboy rider.

The pony stands about 7 1/4 inches tall and is in amazing condition, perhaps a touch of paint rub on the tips of the ears. Gorgeous for being nearly 60 years old.

This collectible piece is unmarked and my understanding is that Breyer did not provide any mold markings for the original Western Pony. This would be a great early Breyer addition to any collection.

Jen, a fellow Etsian, wrote to me to say...
"I have always had a soft spot for the old Breyer Western Horses...he can be whitened. Put him in a sunny window and rotate sides every few days. He'll brighten right up." What a great tip. I'll leave that to the new owner if so desired.
