Dyelot 4!

I can't stop making this colorway. I have made this in a sock yarn, slub art yarn, art yarn with unspun mohair locks, and a bulky single ply. It is my new favorite. Poison Apple, with deep cherry, lime, chartreuse, bright goldenrod, charcoal...conjurs up bright shiny apples with a secret. This dyelot also contains a bit of bronze and more subtle shades than previous dyelots-is apparently a bit more of a complex Poison Apple brew.

100 yard skeins, bulky thick and thin, skeins weigh about 2.7 oz each.

Each skein of yarn is a labor of love. Recycled or local roving is hand painted with low acid dyes, steamed, and cooled for 24 hours to ensure colorfast yarn and less environmental impact as no dye is being washed down the drain. The roving is drafted and spun on my dreamy Schacht Matchless wheel, wound onto the niddy noddy and fashioned into a skein. Next, I soak the skein of yarn in a spring water and organic grapefruit/eucalyptus essential oil rinse. At this point the wet skein is blocked (dried with weights or on a yarn blocker to remove overtwist) and finally stored, awaiting a new home.
