These adorable sequencing cards are the perfect tool to help your child learn patterns, sequencing, and pre-reading skills. As a former special education teacher, I used to use sequencing cards all the time to help my students develop the skills they would need to succeed in school. The ability to identify patterns and predict what comes next will help your child with spelling, sequencing events, reading, and identifying what comes first, next and last. This set of sequencing cards will also help with the identification of four different animals. It is a great learning tool for children with autism, Down's syndrome, or any other devlopmental disability.

This set comes with 12 different laminated strips, 21 animals that have been laminated and have a velcro backing (6 elephants, 5 zebras, 5 hippos, 5 lions) and an instruction sheet on how to use strips. The strips have been labeled from 1-12 and get progressively more challenging to identify the pattern. Pattern sequences include the following sequences where each letter represents a different animal and the "____" represents the next animal in the sequence that the child would need to add to complete the sequence/pattern:
1. A-B-A-B-____
2. A-B-A-B-____-____
3. A-A-B-A-____-____
4. A-B-B-A-____-____
5. A-B-C-A-B-____
6. A-B-C-A-___-___
7. A-A-B-A-___-___
8. A-B-C-___-___-C
9. A-B-___-A-____-C

The set could also be used as a sorting activity where the child could separate lions, zebras, hippos, and elephants. It could be used in a special education class for a TEACCH activity or by a Speech teacher that is working on sequencing/sorting/receptive or expressive language development.
