This listing is for a Letterpress Print on an Antique Atlas Page.

It is approximately 11” x 14”

The letterpress print in the main photo is the exact one you will receive.

Last winter I bought an antique letterpress (technically a sign press) at an antique store. I found a stack of antique atlases the very next day at an estate sale. I heard “You Can Go Your Own Way” on the radio on the way home and it was one of those giant light bulb moments.

I had been painting on and with antique maps, atlases and globes for a few years, exploring direction (and my inherent lack thereof) and so this series of song lyrics about direction on antique atlas pages has been a neat addition to my more painterly work.

“May the Road Rise with You” is an old Irish blessing, basically saying, “I hope everything will go well for you”. It fits into this series because it is also a line from the song “Rise” by the band P.I.L. or Public Image Limited an English post-punk band formed by vocalist John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols).

This listing is for the letterpress print only. The photo of a letterpress print framed is just so you can see one framed. I also recently added a photo of letters laid out in my press and of the press itself as people had questions about my process that I didn't seem to be answering in a way that was helpful.
