DESCRIPTION

Michèle is a refined and comfortable buttoned cardigan.
It has two lace and cable panels on the fronts, as well as a round neckline and raglan sleeves.
It has been worked with a natural French shepherd’s yarn, it combines an elegant design with a rustic yarn.
It is easy to pair with pants, a straight skirt, or a dress, with the cooling fall temperatures.

Difficulty level: 3/5

Sizing (bust circumference on finished garment):
S1 (86 cm) / S2 (91 cm) / S3 (96 cm) / S4 (101 cm) / S5 (106 cm) / S6 (111 cm) / S7 (116 cm) / S8 (121 cm) / S9 (126 cm) / S10 (131 cm)

The pattern was created in collaboration with Atelier Pure Laine. The photographed sample is worked in size 2 in the “la plus fine” yarn by Atelier Pure Laine (500 grams/1330 m cone), in the natural colorway.

CONSTRUCTION

Michèle is worked seamlessly top down.
The yoke is worked first, placing the two motif panels on both half-fronts, while creating a slight dip on the front, and working the back in stockinette stitch. The raglan increases are worked at the same time.
The sleeves are then put on hold to work the body straight, while continuing the two front panels.
The button band is worked at the same time as the body in 1x1 rib.
The body is finished with a garter stitch border.
The sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch in the round, finished with a small repeat of the front panel and a garter border.
The cardigan is finished by picking up stitches at the neckline to work a garter band and adding an extra buttonhole.
