This perzine chronicles my life from mid-summer 2009 until that fall. I write about settling into Richmond and becoming re-immersed in creativity, raising a cat-child, attending a Purple Martin Festival, and other quiet moments and thoughts from my life. I also include a couple of poems and some drawings of objects found in alleys and around my house. This zine is typewritten using a 1964 Royal Safari typewriter (my new friend!) with some handwritten text as well.

16 pages with black and white illustrations photocopied onto off-white paper with a green cardstock cover. This book is half-size (digest-size), measuring 5 1/2" x 8 1/2."Printed on at least 30% recycled paper.

One of the themes is to live in the present with a thankful heart. There are contemplations about the challenges of being an artist and having true freedom to create. I enjoyed the cicada poem and the sweet story about Dozer the cat, an important new member of the family. The artwork sprawls across the pages, adding much beauty to the experience. This was created with heart and soul. I also like that most of the pages were typed with an old 1964 Royal Safari typewriter, similar to one I used to have. These zines have so much character.

I already own Minutiae 1 and 2, and really enjoyed the quiet and lovely pen illustrations combined with documentation of quiet, introspective experiences of daily life. I ordered Minutiae 3-5 and they didn't disappoint. As an artist and avid zine maker myself, the threads of spontaneity and trying to create things more in the moment running through many of the stories were just what I needed right now as well. Getting a extra in my order (Autumn Poem minizine) was also a nice surprise!
