This softcover school book is in very good condition. It is TIP, Reading for Meaning, and it is dated 1949 by Houghton Mifflin Company. I remember the Dick and Jane stories from back when I was learning to read, but this book dates earlier and stars Jack and Janet.

The book itself is in good condition for its age. There is fading and wear to the front cover and a scribble mark on the back cover but it remains to be in good shape -- especially since it was used by so many children in its lifetime! There are a few very light stains here and there but these are not bad and do not take away from the condition.

There are 64 numbered pages including a vocabulary word list taken from the stories in the book. Pages are clean and remain vibrantly colored with wonderful lithographs throughout. There is a 2-1/4" tear on the bottom of page 5&6 and another tear along where the page should be attached to the spine, but no other tears on the story pages were noted.

This was a fabulous find and I'm pleased to be offering it here. Please be sure to ENLARGE my photos for an up close and personal look.
