Amber/gold and purple
Bismuth has been know for centuries, but nobody has ever done anything like this until now. This is equine sculpture in a totally different medium. Those amazing crystals run throughout the whole horse!
Metals crystallize as they cool, and if done slowly enough, they're big enough to see. They change colors until their temperature drops. This one stopped with nice golds and purples.

I sculpted the horse, and made a series of very special molds that allow for the manipulation of several variables. They include temperature, the rate of change of temperature at different parts in the mold, oxygen abundance and some others. I melt the Bismuth and pour it in the mold. Since I cannot see the crystals forming beneath the surface, I orchestrate it's cooling paying careful attention to every detectable variable. If I time it right, I dump the still molten metal and reveal the beautifully frozen crystals beneath. If I didn't time it right, I start over.
All this is done in my studio in specialized, personally invented, homemade furnaces.

The Crystal Cluster weighs about 7 lbs or 3 kg. The whole piece is about 12 inches tall, or 29 cm.

These metal crystals are 99.99% bismuth, (element83). They construct themselves while they cool, and the colors are random, a natural occurrence on being exposed to oxygen.

My general description of Bismuth-
Bismuth is a rare and little known metal, (half as abundant as silver). The crystals form under the liquid metal as it slowly freezes. They come out of the molten metal the color of silver. Then they "choose" their own colors in the next few seconds, as they gradually change from silver to gold to purple to cerulean, ect. It stops when it "feels" like it, (and when it drops below a certain temperature).
The bismuth's weight is similar to silver's. There is only one mine in the world made specifically for it's extraction.
