Finally a use for those great New Yorker covers! This handbound journal is covered in an actual New Yorker cover. The cover is by the fabulous graphic artist Adrian Tomine of Optic Nerve fame. The cover is dated June 9 & 16, 2008 and depicts a bookseller opening up his shop as his next door neighbor receives a shipment from Amazon. The back of the book is covered in a beautiful Japanese linen bookcloth.

The journal is bound in the Coptic style, a form of binding that originated in Egypt in the 4th century A.D., and is characterized by sections of paper attached to each other with chain stitches across the spine. The book measures 6 ½ ”x 8½". There are 80 blank white pages (160 if you count the back and front) and the stitching is blue. This is 70lb. paper - nice and thick - from the French Paper Company. Great for sketching or journaling!

All of my albums and books are made by hand in my home-based studio. I use traditional bookbinding structures with eye-catching papers. So my products will last I use acid free paper, cloth, and glue.

I use the USPS Priority Mail boxes to ship my items. There is a discount on shipping if multiple items are purchased. Insurance is extra and added at the request of the buyer.

Convo me with any questions prior to purchase so that we can ensure you will be happy with your purchase!

The New Yorker cover\/s used in the making of this book are the original covers I received in the mail - they are not reproduced. The New Yorker Magazine does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this site.
