MATERIALS & CARE
All of our jewelry pieces are handmade using high-quality, recycled metals. Read on to learn more about these materials, as well as tips for jewelry care.

► Bronze
Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin and is marked by a rich, warm golden tone, something of a cross between yellow and rose gold. We offer select designs in bronze, as a less expensive alternative to gold. Bronze will develop a patina due to oxidation, which can be cleaned off with a polishing cloth.

*Please note: Bronze rings do have the tendency to turn fingers green as a result of the chemical reaction between the copper content and your skin's sweat and acids. We recommend coating the inside of your bronze ring with clear nail polish to help prevent this. Another alternative is to order half a size larger than your usual ring size, so there is some air flow between the ring and your skin, especially during hot summer months when your fingers may expand under heat.

► Brass

Brass is a yellow alloy of copper and zinc. In its polish state, it very nearly resembles gold. We offer select designs in brass as a less expensive alternative to gold. Brass can also develop a patina due to oxidation, which can be cleaned off with a polishing cloth.

*Please note: Brass rings have a tendency to turn fingers green as a result of the chemical reaction between its copper content and your skin's sweat and acids. Another alternative is to order half a size larger than your usual ring size, so there is some air flow between the ring and your skin, especially during hot summer months when your fingers may expand under heat.

►Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other base metals. It is considered a precious metal. Sterling silver will oxidize over time. You can restore its shine by polishing your jewelry with a cleaning cloth. Or you can leave it as is, as the patina gives the piece all the more character!

► 14k Gold Fill
Gold fill, also known as “rolled gold”, is a solid layer of gold bonded to a base metal with substantial heat and pressure. It looks like solid gold but comes at a much more affordable price. Even with daily wear, gold filled jewelry can retain their shine for many years.

►10 Karat & 14 Karat Gold
10 Karat Gold is composed of 42% pure gold and other metal alloys that give it hardness. 14 Karat Gold is comprised of 58% pure 24k gold and other metal alloys that give it hardness. It is a precious metal that will not tarnish over time. Fun fact: 14k gold is the most popular metal choice for ceremonial rings.

*If you are interested in white gold, please note that natural white gold will have a slight yellowish tint due to their gold content. We prefer this over rhodium plating, which gives the white gold a silvery appearance but will wear off over time.

►Jewelry Care
A simple rule of thumb is to always take off your jewelry first and put it on last. This helps limit their exposure to excessive moisture (i.e. shower, pool, ocean) and chemical products (i.e. sunscreen, lotion, hairspray, perfume), which will speed up the oxidation process. When they're not being worn, store them away neatly in a box or pouch, away from sunlight.

To clean your jewelry, gently wipe it with a jewelry polishing cloth, or clean it with mild soap and water.
