We recommend ordering 6-8 months in advance of your wedding to leave room for production time, shipping, and alterations.

Here's a breakdown of our estimated standard timing:

- Shipping: 2-24 weeks (depending on your location)
- Alterations: Contact your local dress tailor to ensure you leave enough time for potential adjustments and fittings.

If you are between sizes we recommend sizing down for stretch items, and up for non-stretch items.

When selecting a size, ensure each measurement is within 1/4" of your dimensions. When in doubt choose the option that fits the largest measurements of your body rather than the smallest, as things can always be taken in by a tailor to find your perfect fit.

Most wedding dresses require some alterations to find your perfect fit.

Our patterns were created with easy changes in mind, so your tailor can get in and out without hassle. Contact your local dress tailor or reputable alterationist to ensure you leave enough time for adjustments and fittings!

Simple alterations depending on your desired fit:
• Take the waistband in to fit snugly
• Hem to the desired height
• Take in side seams to contour further
• Alter strap length to fit
• Lengthen bodysuits by letting the straps out, or by adding soft, thin elastic at the thong
• Shorten bodysuit by taking it up at the thong

We are located in Vancouver BC, Canada where our pieces are designed and made. Our studio accepts bookings by appointment for those interested in trying our pieces on in person!

Fern & Moon is a waste-free line, meaning we save all of our leftover fabric for future use. Currently, our offcuts are going towards appliques, scrunchies, and fabric swatches.

Made to Order means we do not have a standing inventory of pieces. Instead, we begin making your gown when you place your order, which helps us stay true to our values of reducing our environmental impact.

Because items are Made to Order, we suggest you purchase your gown 6 or more months before your wedding to leave lots of time for processing, shipping, and alterations.

Your order will be carefully packaged inside a gift box, which is then encased in a cardboard box, and wrapped in a plastic envelope for added safety.

Stretch Crepe:
– Machine wash gentle cold using clear detergent or non-chlorine bleach. Line dry. Steam, do not iron.

Jacquard:
– Dry-clean or hand wash in distilled water using fabric softener to prevent static. Lay flat to dry. Steam, do not iron.

Lightweight Crepe:
– Dry clean or hand wash in distilled water using clear detergent or white soap. Lay flat to dry. Steam, do not iron.

Dotted Dobby:
– Dry clean or hand wash in distilled water using clear detergent or white soap. Hang to dry. Steam, do not iron.

If you can contact us within 24 hours of your order being placed, we can return or exchange your items! After the 24 hour mark, we begin the process of making your gown.

If you have missed the 24 hour window we may not be able to cancel your order, but that doesn’t mean we can’t help. Get in touch and we’ll see what else we can do!

Because items are Made to Order we are unable to accept returns or exchanges. However we want our brides to be happy, so please get in touch with your questions or concerns.
