This is a rarity. Have had for many years. Mammy Lou's Cookbook was written by Betty Benton Patterson, published by Robert M McBride and company, is a First edition October 1931. Mammie Lou is a composite characterization of all the African American mammies we have known, loved and sometimes lost. These mammies are vanishing. The meals of the "Old South" were the creations of temperamental artists --negro mammies. Their cooking was the best!
Book has 307 pages. All pages are intact and no pages are dog eared. The cover of the book appears to have been attached with glue or some substance and a great deal of the original cover is gone. The front cover is not loose but the seam is wearing thin. This is highly collectible, have only seen one other like this. Cover was doing the same thing. Inside the front pages there is a glued on slip of paper listing typographical omissions. Everything is intact. Over all I would rate this book to be in good condition considering its age and the fact that it has been well used.
Book measures 5 1/4" x 7 1/2" x 1 1/2". Has 14 catagories.
If you are a collector this might complete your collection, if that is ever possisble.
