The tire ashtray dates to the early 1900s, a time when "the big three", Firestone, Goodyear, and B.F. Goodrich, built a tire kingdom in Akron, Ohio. Early ashtrays were made of metal, while later ashtrays are typically glass with rubber tire exteriors. Here is a great article about the tire ashtray:

This vintage B.F. Goodrich Silvertown Radial Tire ashtray measures about 6” in diameter and is about 1.25” thick. The tire is rubber, while the inner ashtray is clear glass.

This item is in VERY GOOD CONDITION. There are no chips or cracks in the glass ashtray. The rubber tire is in good shape with no chips or cracking. There are paint splatters on the bottom of the rubber tire.
