🍁 Please note!

This product contains significant amounts of henna, which is permanent and rarely fades like chemical reds. You cannot remove henna with a color remover, and bleaching it out will damage your hair long before you get rid of the orange. We HIGHLY recommend getting samples and strand testing before committing to henna.

This is a deposit-only herbal hair color, it cannot lighten your hair. Please refer to the color chart and strand test to determine your resulting color.

🌿 Storage: The powder can be stored in the freezer for well over a year, so long as it is kept in an airtight bag or container. The mud can be kept frozen for 6 months.

🌿 Herbal Hair Powder Preparation & Instructions:

1. In a bowl add the herbal powder. In a separate container heat distilled water until steaming but not boiling and add, mixing until you have a mud the consistency of pancake batter. Add a few drops of Essential Oil if you wish. Please research your EOs carefully.

2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and set someplace warm. Atop a warm electronic, such as a computer tower works well, or under a warm lamp. Mix occasionally, letting sit for at least 2-4 hours, and no more than 6.

3. When ready to use, wash hair but do not condition (or condition very lightly). Section towel-dried hair and work the herbal mud into the hair, making sure not to miss spots. Carefully pile hair atop the head and cover with a shower cap or plastic wrap. Leave on for 2-6 hours, the longer you leave it on the deeper the conditioning benefits and the more colored tones that will be imparted.

4. Rinse well with water. If you find rinsing difficult, try soaking your hair in the bathtub or a bucket first, or use a lots of a cheap silicone-free conditioner (like VO5) to aid rinsing

🌿 Detailed Ingredients

Senna (Senna alexandrea)– Has a high concentration of Chrysophanic acid, which gives both conditioning benefits and a golden color. The tannins and chrysophanic acid in senna also have anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.

Cassia (Cassia Obovata, Senna italica)– Also contains Chrysophanic acid, and conditions hair in a manner similar to that of henna, providing body, aiding in detangling, scalp conditioning, and provides shine/sheen to hair. Also known as "neutral henna" since it provides the conditioning of henna without the red color, only imparting slight warm golden hues on some hair.

Henna Body Art Quality Moroccan(Lawsonia Inermis)- Henna is a natural plant coloring for the hair; made from the powdered leaves of a desert shrub plant, Lawsonia. It deposits a reddish hue to the hair, as well as strengthening the hair and smoothing the cortex.

Chamomile flowers (Matricaria recutita)– Chamomile has always had a long-standing reverence as a beneficial herb for both hair and skin. The flowers sooth itching on the scalp and the slight acidity they have smooths the hair cuticle, giving shine, conditioning, and, to some hair types, golden tones.

Ginger Root (Zingiber officinale)- Ginger is the most widely used and available herbal remedy on the planet, with billions of people using it every day as both food and medicine. A sweet-smelling herb, it helps to promote circulation and detoxification and thus may aid in hair growth. This herb also adds a pleasant scent to the herbal blend.

Herbal Blend:
Horsetail (Shavegrass, Equisetum arvense)– Horsetail, not to be confused with cat-tail, is possibly the most abundant source of silica in the plant kingdom, helping to keep hair strong. Many people believe that horsetail can help speed up hair growth. Some of the ways to take horsetail is to drink it in your tea, take it in capsule form or apply it directly to the scalp and hair.

Yellow Dock (Rumex crispus)– This herb has been used for centuries to heal inflammed, weeping, irritated skin conditions.

Burdock Root Powder (Arctium lappa)- Contains mucilage and starches that soothes irritated skin and membranes and is one of the most effective herbs for promoting hair growth and reducing the amount of hair shed.

Marshmallow Root Powder (Althaea officinalis) aka Gulkhairo– Soothes both the skin and scalp. Used alone or in conjunction with aloe vera liquid/gel, it provides excellent relief from skin and scalp irritation while leaving hair soft and shining.

Aloe Vera Root– Contains many of the products necessary and effective in fighting hair loss: Biotin, b-vitamins, zinc and inositil. It also contains anti-bacterial properties that keep the scalp healthy by controlling scalp infections that can prohibit hair growth.

Hibiscus Flower aka Jaswand (Hibiscus Rosa Sinensis)– An emollient (meaning it helps the cuticle of the hair lay down) and a demulcent (meaning it leaves a light soothing film behind) this herb has a cooling effect. It stimulates hair growth, increases hair thickness, reduces and prevents graying, balding, hair-loss, dandruff, split-ends, and many other hair conditions and many scalp disorders. It is also an excellent natural conditioner that may impart a warm reddish color to hair.

Stinging Nettle Leaf (Urtica dioica)– Often called nature’s conditioner, Stinging Nettle is natural deep cleanser useful for oily skin and hair that promotes hair growth.

I decided that I wanted to dye my hair for the first time. I decided to go the natural route and use one of these amazing natural Anna blends. I have medium dark brown hair and decided to do some strand testing to see if these blends actually changed the color of my hair. I tried Enyo, kitsune, and fire genasi. I applied the blends and let them develop for 6 hours. The blend that changed the hair color the most was Fire Genasi. my hair reaches to the middle of my back and I'm a little afraid to take the plunge but so far I have really enjoyed all of these henna blends. I hope this is helpful to anybody trying this out for the first time.

I have been doing a lot of research on henna and hair coloring methods, almost treating it like a science experiment, because I have never tried dying my hair. Luckily, I have a lot of hair, so cutting off bits and pieces isn't a huge deal :) After about a month of deliberation I decided on Fire Genasi because it gave my hair a rich copper color on the first dye without the intense redness that was present in straight henna. In the photo, I compare "red" henna by Light Mountain (right) to Gire Genasi (middle) and Rusalki (left). My hair is naturally a light-medium brown color with blonder highlights. I couldn't include it in the picture because I didn't want to cut off another larger chunk of hair :)

I love this color. I am a dirty blonde, 41 yrs old with just a bit of grey at the temple. I mix this copper with the colorless henna and just apply to my grey areas. Covers like a charm and closely matches my dirty blonde color with a hint of orange. Looks so natural! LOVE IT.

Amazing. Being Irish and a redhead (with 3 redheaded babies) I am a little proud of my red hair I was looking for something that would just compliment my natural hair color and hide some highlights and a blonde birthmark and I'm glad I was able to try this sample (thanks for offering sample sizes!) before doing all of my hair. That part of my hair is so shiny and looks amazing now what a treat! I just ordered the bigger product and can't wait to pamper my hair :) If you're a natural red and just want to brighten up your hair you will adore this. It looks very subtle and natural and the conditioning effect it has is dreamy! Also being someone who doesn't use chemicals on my body at all the shop is so refreshing to find.
