Description

A gorgeous steel engraved city map of Alsace-Lorraine Germany before it became a part of France back in 1906.

The Imperial territory of Alsace-Lorraine (German: Reichsland Elsass-Lothringen) generally Elsass-Lothringen, was a territory created by the German Empire in 1871 after it annexed most of Alsace and the Moselle region of Lorraine following its victory in the Franco-Prussian War. The Alsatian part lay in the Rhine Valley on the west bank of the Rhine River and east of the Vosges Mountains. The Lorraine section was in the upper Moselle valley to the north of the Vosges Mountains.
The Imperial territory of Alsace-Lorraine was made up of 93% of Alsace (7% remained French) and 26% of Lorraine (74% remained French). For historical reasons, specific legal dispositions are still applied in the territory in form of a local law. In relation to its special legal status, since its reversion to France following World War I, the territory has been referred to administratively as Alsace-Moselle

If you ever find yourself traveling back in time and find yourself in beautiful Alsace-Lorraine (or Reichsland Elsass-Lothringen as the locals call it) back in 1906, you'll be able to navigate your way around the countryside with grace and ease!

This satin-finished antique map measures 9.25" x 14.25" overall and it's neatly folded twice as it was when it was issued. It's blank on the reverse side. There are two small closed tears in the very bottom margin which are easily addressed with a mat. '1906 Map of Alsace-Lorraine Germany ' is printed on heavy paper stock and is in otherwise wonderful condition; the paper is smooth, clean and condition, without tanning, wrinkles or foxing. This one's a real gem.

Matted, framed and displayed as a gallery grouping, these lovely antique maps are simply spectacular. (Please note that the framed examples in the last photos are to show how this might look when it's matted and framed. Your map will come to you unmatted and unframed.)

I'll send this old beauty to you by way of the USPS packed flat and protected in a rigid mailer.

Cashier's Checks and Money Orders are okay too but only if they are received within four days of your order, otherwise we'll cancel the order and put the item back up for sale.

We BEG you guys, Please... If your Etsy Address and PayPal Addresses are different, please please let us know where you would like us to send your package. We have a real talent for choosing the wrong one.

Returns & exchanges

Returns
We are happy to accept returns in good condition in the original packaging shipped within 48 hours as exchanges only and you agree to pay postage both ways.

Damages In The US Mail.
They happen sometimes.
Although we carefully wrap our vintage breakables in tons of bubblewrap and tons of padding and pack them in sturdy shipping boxes, damages still sometimes happen. *sigh*
Please tell us about damaged goods ASAP. Photograph the damages and send photos to us so that we can work it out with USPS.

Shipping policies

We ship by way of the United States Postal Service only.
Yes, FedEx and UPS are a little bit cheaper, but we find them to be very brutal with our delicates and breakables, so we refuse to play with them.

International Orders
The answer is YES we do ship internationally. Please just ask! There are many shipping destinations on this planet and each one is a slightly different price.

Additional policies

While it is considered customary for many antique and vintage shops to consider offers and dicker prices, our shop simply doesn't.
We've priced our merchandise as fairly as humanly possible. Please don't ask us to haggle.
Thank you.
