This plate was handmade, wheel thrown, and altered using a clay body which I made from scratch. It was wood fired in the Historic East Creek Anagama for 5 continual days and reduction cooled. There was no glaze applied to the exterior of this piece, the surface affects are the result of complex interactions of melted wood ash, clay body, and atmosphere in the kiln. This plate is food safe as well as microwave and dishwasher safe.
