Dahlias, flower of garden connoisseurs! The ancient civilizations of Central America used this flower for dyeing. As with many flowers, the color of the petals is not necessarily the resulting color of the dye. This tie was dyed with the petals of deep magenta-purple flowers, which created a lovely gold color on the silk. The rich complexity of natural plant dyes is impossible to capture in photos. The colors are difficult to describe, changing their beauty with the light and angle of view. A shibori technique was used to create the pattern with clipping. Shibori is ancient traditional dyeing methods from Japan.

The tie is heavy silk charmeuse, 4" wide and 60" long. There is a bit of ribbon on the back to hold the slender half in place.

As with all Zeldez Plant Wear offerings, we strive for the highest quality and the lowest environmental impact. No chemicals were used to produce this exquisite and completely unique necktie.
