Gold Brooch - The Jewel
Baroque Gold Brooch - The Jewel
Back in the 18th century, lovers commissioned miniature eye portraits to be made into tokens they could wear as a symbol of their secret liaison. With only a portrait of one eye, just the wearer would know the identity of his/her lover. From its inception, the very nature of wearing the eye is personal and a statement of love by the wearer. Not having marks of identification, the wearer and the piece are intrinsically linked, rather than a jewellery item which can exist without the necessity of the wearer.
This pieces of jewelry still fascinate everyone who get to know their existence, and have been inspiring us for months. Now, it is the time to reveal what we’ve been hiding but, could you tell what’s the secret behind our designs? Do not hesitate, along with every piece we will be sending you the secret story of the characters behind them.
Golden accents everywhere and pearls, this season is about coming back to our very own love for the baroque era. Any plain shirt, blouse or dress will be transformed into an anachronistic attire with any of these pieces.
First, second and third photographies by Javier Gamonal (http://elephantgun.es), model Diana Irazabal (http://dianairazabal.tumblr.com).
