Description

For all of you DIY'ers out there, this little set of Anthro Red Panda Art Doll Parts is ideal! I know it looks like a raccoon, but is actually modeled after the Red Panda, a native of the Himalayas and Southwest China.

This listing is for ONE bust with hands and feet --featuring pale blue French Court Mules (shoes) constructed of stained, waxed stoneware. While perhaps not the most obvious choice of footwear for such an animal, my instincts reveal a subliminal cue: the rather controversial taxonomic classification of the red panda began with French zoologist Frédéric Cuvier, who initially described the red panda in 1825, also classifying it as a close relative of the raccoon (Procyonidae), though he gave it the genus name Ailurus, "cat", based on superficial similarities with domestic cats. The specific epithet is the Latin adjective fulgens, "shining." The left foot of my little "shining cat" is marked with my initials and the year, while the back of the bustplate bears the inscription "R.Panda #1."

The head and limbs are already fitted with the necessary holes for attaching hat, arms and legs, and are compatible with the step-by-step instructions for completing his/her body similar to "Rabbit #8" in my full-color 25-page illustrated PDF document (not included), available here:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/106450118/pdf-pattern-a-and-instructions-for

Completed according to the assembly instructions, the doll will stand approximately 9" tall, and i will happily include construction suggestions and notes for the addition of a bushy ringed tail if you like.

Check back here soon for sketches of how the completed doll might look, and as always, Thanks for doting!!
