These special sunglasses were made by American Optical in the 1950s and are called "HazeMaster" because of the yellow lenses. I found an article online that was written for a magazine in 1975 that says "because it does not screen out the infrared end of the spectrum, and doesn’t reduce brightness very much, AO refuses to call it a sunglass, referring to it invariably as an “outdoor glass” or a “shooting glass.”

The frames are tortoise with arms that curve in about an inch from the ends. Here are the measurements:

Height of front: 1 3\/4"
Width of front: 5 5\/8"
Length of arm: 6"

Both frames and lenses are in remarkable condition for being 50 years old. The frames have light surface scratches here and there. One lens has one tiny noticeable scratch and the other has a couple of light surface scratches.

This item is shipped Priority Mail in the U.S. and First Class International to all other locations. Please be aware that we can not track packages shipped outside of the U.S. and will not be responsible for any loss or damage.

About our frames and sunglasses: As a rule, "sunglasses" will have non-prescription lenses in them while "frames" will have prescription or no lenses in them.

All are used and some wear should be expected. We will point out any obvious flaws. We also take the time to provide sizes, so please be sure you are buying frames that will fit you. We will only except returns on frames if the information we provide is incorrect.
