Note: the photo shows a number of types of beads, but the price is $50 for each bead. If you buy more than 4 beads, they are $45 each. In order to do this, I will create a listing especially for your purchase that will reflect your order, please contact me. The price of $100 is on this order because I couldn't save this entry without a number. Price will be determined after we discuss your project.

The shipping rate is higher than usual because I send all finished beads and the remainder of the cremains back to you as safely as possible with a USPS tracking number.

I make all cremain beads according to your requests; size, shape, color etc. They can be as big or small as you want. I would not make a bead over 1.5" in either direction because handling that much glass gets difficult due to the nature of the material. So that the finished beads don't crack, I have to keep the entire molten mass evenly hot. The bead samples shown here tend to be 3/4" wide x 1" high.

I can create a cremation bracelet for you, a custom order to fit your wrist with the number of creamin beads you wish. I make accent beads to highlight your color and design choice for $10 each and in addition I can set off the bracelet with some lead-free cast pewter beads at $1 each. You can chose from black or brown leather or black braided nylon; a lobster claw or toggle clasp in a silver or copper tone and your beads will make a fitting memorial to you loved one(s).

Cremation Jewelry is a beautiful & sensitive way to honor a loved one's memory and
bring comfort to survivors. The result is a beautiful piece of wearable art that will be as unique as your loved one.

At the turn of the 20th century people commissioned framed artwork and jewelry made of their loved ones hair. For the 21st century, I offer beautiful unique lampwork glass beads handmade with compassion and care. Glass items include pendants, earrings, Pandora compatible size beads and beads for sun catchers.

I do not take lightly the trusted relationship that involves stewardship of your loved-ones cremains. I would like to meet you so, you can pick the color palette; bead size and shape and any added ornamental touches. If a personal consultation is not possible, I can discuss your preferences on the phone or via email. Please double bag the cremains in small zip lock bags and send to me via the USPS as Registered Mail in a padded outer envelope. I will mail your beads and any remaining cremains back to you via Registered Mail -- unless you specify otherwise.

Handling Cremains, as addressed in California health law, says that the cremains have to be “stored in a sealed container and be treated responsibly.” Nothing could be more sealed than inside a glass bead. I will need about a quarter of a teaspoon for each bead and would like to know your loved-one’s name. For your safety, please wear a dust mask when you move the cremains from their original container to the small zip lock bag. If you breathe in cremains, my experience is that you can get a sore throat. The best size for my purpose is poppy seed to sand sized cremains. My work surface is carefully cleaned before I begin your project and after. All unused cremains are returned to you with the finished beads.

Creating the bead is done much like any glass bead where canes of melting glass are wound around a central metal rod that creates the hole. At midpoint in the beads’ circumference, I roll the hot glass in the cremains and then encase them in more glass. These beads are original art, and so if you are ordering several and it is important to you, they will never be exactly alike but will be made as closely as I can to resemble each other. I will require 2-3 weeks to complete your order. The hole in the middle of the bead will be 1/8” or larger for Pandora-style bracelets. The cremains, which are usually white or tan, can be encased in clear glass with decorative ends so they are distinctly visible or hidden within layers of colored glass.

Price per bead $40 each payable in full upon ordering.
