Hi. OK, so I do things backwards. I've been making comics for 20+ years, more seriously for about 11 years. While I HAVE self-published before, the work was an anthology by a collective of artists, which we had professionally printed. Since then I have mostly had my work published by other people in anthologies.

So I have never done a good old-fashioned photocopied, hand-stapled minicomic or zine before now! I always WANTED to, I just never got around to it. The other thing I've never done is made a book that was all my own work. OK, well, this is only 28 pages, but it still feels weird and good.

It's mostly about the balance between how much you reveal and how much you obscure when making art. It's also somewhat about language and translation, which I am never not interested in. It's a thing I had to do, a lame talisman, a charm against itself. I'm still editing it in my mind as we speak.
