This extra large ornate pitcher and wash basin was made by Admiral VP Co. almost 100 years ago, in Ohio Valley, where a lot of American Semi-porcelain (or ironstone) was produced in the late 1800s into the early 20th century. It has some embossed scallop designs on both pitcher and basin, and gold detailing on pitcher rim and handle, and gold band around collar as well. It is in great vintage condition for its age, with some substantial fading of the gold on handle, lots of fading on rim, but most remains on collar. There’s lots of crazing throughout, and some peppering all over. The basin is in good vintage condition as well, but there are some manufacture flaws: large stained glaze skip on inner rim being most obvious, flea bites, peppering throughout, and some post manufacture scuffs of grey on rim (see photo 4 & 5). No chips or cracks!
Bottom of pitcher reads “Admiral VP Co.” and bottom of basin reads “Brooklyn”. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not original to each other, but I’m not 100% sure, but patterns on both seem to coordinate well.
