He is 22.5cm or 8.8" tall and made with light weight (3) yarn suitable for amigurumi and a size 2mm crochet hook.

You can use thicker yarn and a hook suitable for that thicker yarn. The end result will then just be slightly bigger.

The pattern includes lots of pictures to help you understand the instructions.

Sadly I purchased this thinking it was knitted, got to have a few crochet lessons now
