Osa is screen printed with one layer of ink on top of a acrylic color wash painting. I also painted into the print with the ink after printing to give it a painterly effect. She is printed on Arches watercolor paper and signed at the bottom.

Paper size is 22x30 inches
Image size is 18x19.5 inches

Osa Johnson and her husband, Martin Johnson, were international explorers who filmed and captured unprecedented photographs of nature and indigenous culture in East and Central Africa, the South Pacific Islands, and British North Borneo between 1917 and 1935. Osa typifies a strong, independent woman in a time when women had limited opportunities. To learn more about Osa, I urge you to visit The Martin and Osa Johnson Safari Museum in Chanute, Kansas, or their website at http://www.safarimuseum.com/their_story.htm.

I simply love this image of Osa and I sincerely hope you will as well!

The print is shipped in a sturdy cardboard tube to ensure it arrives safely without damage.
