A friend tells me the iPad was just made for me and I do believe it was! I love mine, even more so since I found the greatest handwriting app that is perfect for journaling and keeping notebooks exactly as I used to do on paper, but even better because you can do so much more with it! I have to admit, I'm a bit of a notebook/journal fanatic. Can't resist those beautiful pages just waiting for my thoughts and doodles and important stuff. I have a lifetime collection, most of which are totally empty because I can't bring myself to mess up the pages! That's the drawback to beautiful paper journals.
Discovering that I can create notebooks on my iPad has solved that problem because now I can doodle and write in my beautiful themed journals to my heart's content and never worry about ruining them. There's an inexhaustible supply of paper, arranged in any way I choose to arrange it; lined paper, plain paper, graph paper... I can duplicate pages, delete pages, move them to other notebooks, add pictures, erase things, sketch, doodle, type, tag entries so I can search and find them later... For a journal fanatic, once you find the right app and the right stylus, there's no stopping you!
I've been creating so many things for use on my iPad that I'm creating a new shop section - Digital iPad accessories - Journals, Doodads & Playthings, and in it you will find all sorts of goodies designed specifically to use on your iPad. (Of course, with most items, there's nothing stopping you from printing them or using them on your computer as well! Or printing them out and using in crafting projects or for paper scrapbooking or journaling)
This set consists of journal or notebook covers created to use in journal apps or pdf readers/managers. There's something really satisfying to me in taking beautiful hundred-year-old papers and making them into something that I can use on the high-tech iPad! This set includes:
16 jpg file covers - 8.5" x11"
33 jpg covers back - 8.5"x11"
If you create a lot of pdf files on your iPad, use these to get and stay organized. Insert them at the beginning of all your pdf documents, title them and you instantly recognize your files! Use one cover per subject, per month, per year, or just mix them all up to have some visual variety and interest on your iPad bookshelves!
I design most of my stuff for use with Noteshelf , which is my journaling/notebook app of choice. I've tried all the notebooking apps, I think, and Noteshelf is hand's down the best out there! It allows you to create your own covers and background papers. That gives you a lot of flexibility in creating pages in it.
The files are in a zip format which will require a file management app that unzips, something like Good Reader, or any of the free zip apps you can find in the App Store. Apple’s Files App also unzips. With an app that manages and unzips files, you can download straight to your iPad and be using them in a matter of minutes! And of course, if you'd rather use the pages on your computer or print them out, you're free to do so!
