Highlights
Elephant Chronicles features 40 full color reproductions of original collages by collage artist Marilyn. The book is hand-stitched and printed in a limited, numbered edition by Red Fox Press, Ireland. The artwork is inspired by the artist's elephant travel encounters during the countercultural sixties. Collage ephemera includes an eclectic mix of elephant news, travels, obits, and vintage ads using elephants to sell everything from car mufflers, shampoo, salt and chocolate as well as clips on the hardships, casualties, killings and massacres that now threaten the species. Part of the artist's vernacular series of time and place based visual collage journals that concern visual culture, travelogue and memoir.
