The Rad Radish socks knitting pattern makes a fun pair of socks for any avid gardener. For wearing while pottering around the garden, allotment, balcony or even inspecting your seedlings on the windowsills. These are the socks to have while taking care of your plants.

Can radish socks be really rad? I think so! The excitement when you see a glimpse of the green radish leaves poking up from your boots (or poking out from under the toe from your sandals!) is perfectly rad! Radishes are about my level of difficulty of vegetable growing and I just wanted to create a pair of cozy socks dedicated to this beautiful and simple veg. And I guarantee that you will feel the same joy knitting and completing these socks, as you will when you see the first seedlings growing in Spring.

These socks are knit from the cuff down with a ribbed cuff and an eye of partridge heel flap and gusset, and they have a section of colorwork on the leg and a section before the toe. Knit for magic loop, but these socks can be knit with DPNs or 9 inch circulars.

To fit (foot circumference): 17–19 (20.5–23, 23.5–25) cm / 7 (8½, 9½) inches

Leg/foot length can be easily adjusted. See instructions for details. Sample shown is knit in size 2 for shoe size EU 39, US 8.5, UK 6, foot circumference 22.5cm (8¾ inches).

Gauge
36 sts x 48 rnds = 4 inches (10 cm) for ribbing and stockinette.
34 sts x 46 rnds = 4 inches (10 cm) for colorwork.

Needles
For ribbing and stockinette: 2.25 mm (US 1), 80-cm (32-inch) circular for magic loop, or DPNs, or two circulars or a 23-cm (9-inch) circular needle (as preferred).
For colorwork: 2.5 mm (US 1.5), 80-cm (32 inch) circular for magic loop, or DPNs, or two circulars or a 23-cm (9-inch) circular needle (as preferred).
Important note: Do check your gauge for fitting. Further sizes can be achieved by going up or down needle sizes.

Awesome design. I am new to knitting and this is my first attempt at colorwork socks. For a while now, I have looked at this beautiful design and dreamed of making this one day. I practiced and practiced, teaching myself how to knit through YouTube and books, and voila, I am one half done with making this dream come true! It is not the best executed one, with many mistakes and lots of time frogging and trying to catch fallen stitches, but the design kept/keeps me inspired. Dreaming of making many more socks by this designer for friends and family. Thanks so much for such creative, beautiful, easy to follow patterns! I am such a fan of your work!

I own Charlotte’s sock pattern book and I love it so much that I keep buying all of her patterns that aren’t included in the book (like this one). The patterns are so well written and the finished products are adorable. I just wish I had more time in the day so I could knit them faster. 😂 Her mitt patterns are super cute, too! I have second sock syndrome pretty bad usually, but the colorwork keeps me interested and I haven’t had an issue finishing them, yet. It looks like everyone will be getting socks for Christmas next year…LOL
