Kara's Shawl is a crescent shape shawl with cables and lace flowing into a delicate beaded border. The size of the body and border is easily customized to create your own unique shawl.

Materials required:
Yarn: Fingering or lace weight yarn. Yards/Measurements based on using US#6.
Bead requirements are approximated.
Small w/Medium Border = 400 yds, 50” x 19”, 400-450 beads
Medium w/Large Border = 700 yds, 76” x 26”, 590-644 beads
Small w/Large Border = 500 yds, 54” x 21”, 450-500 beads
Large w/Short Border = 650 yds, 68” x 24”, 370-420 beads
Medium w/Short Border = 540 yds, 60” x 22” 450-475 beads
Large w/Medium Border = 700 yds, 74” x 26”, 500-552 beads
Medium w/Medium Border = 575 yds, 68” x 24”, 500-563 beads
Large w/Large Border = 890 yds, 82” x 28”, 590-631 beads
Other Materials: 32-40” circular needles in US#6 (4.0mm), or US #5 or #4 (3.5-3.75mm) for very fine lace weight yarn; US#11 or #10 (8-7mm) needle for binding off; 1.0 or 1.10mm crochet hook for beading; tapestry needle, cable needle
Gauge: 20sts = 4 inches; 30 rows = 4 inches in cable & lace Chart 1 pattern.
