Description

The secret to beautiful hair - forget everything you thought you knew about shampoo and conditioner! Or, at the very least, your conditioner. This pure and simple herbal infused apple cider vinegar is my own tried and true recipe for soft, shiny, beautiful hair. I am not typically one for boasting, but yes, that is my hair in the third photo. Not too bad for not having seen shampoo in 4 months, eh? The secret is this vinegar rinse. It helps restore the pH balance of your hair after cleansing (which causes the scales on your hair shaft to stick out, like wool scales, snagging the hairs together and causing tangling and other damage), and helps get the scales to lie flat and smooth once again.

This minimally packaged product is prepared especially for my plastic-free fans! All packaging, including shipping materials, are compostable and recyclable. We don't even use plastic tape! It requires little prep work, and is definitely worth the reduction in packaging, cost, and shipping expense. All of the herbs in my conditioning rinse formula are enclosed within an extra large tea bag. Simply infuse the tea bag in a 32 ounce mason jar filled with apple cider vinegar, and allow to infuse for a week or two, then strain. You may compost the tea bag and the herbs. Now you are ready to use your herb infused conditioning rinse as follows (for up to 64 treatments):

Three ways to use this product:

1. Dilute one tablespoon with 1 cup of warm water and rinse hair after cleansing with a conventional shampoo product. Pour the entire cup over your head and let it soak in. No need to rinse, but you may rinse briefly if you like. The vinegar rinse clarifies as well as conditions. No need for traditional conditioners, no matter how dry or long your hair is. Trust me on this. I have very long, very dry, very tangle-prone hair. You do not need conditioner. You need a smoother hair shaft. If you are unsure about a total switch, just use the vinegar rinse once a week or so, and compare the results for yourself.

2. Dilute as above, use after a no-shampoo cleansing treatment, such as a shampoo bar soap, or dilute solution of baking soda and water. This vinegar rinse will restore the pH balance of your hair, while sealing the hair shaft and removing soap residues, leaving your hair soft and silky.

3. Many people already acclimated to a no-shampoo regimen will find that the diluted solution will be quite adequate for cleansing the hair without need for a shampoo or baking soda cleanser at all. Just apply the vinegar rinse, let soak in momentarily, and rinse out.

You will receive enough herbs to infuse 32 ounces of vinegar, which is enough for 64 conditioning treatments - what a deal!

This product is very mild and gentle, even for people with very sensitive skin, including babies, children, the elderly, and other people with special skin needs. If you are concerned about the suitability of this product for your skin and hair, please test it carefully on the inside of your elbow first, or consult a doctor. Also, please avoid getting it in your eyes.

Ingredients: Calendula, Chamomile, Lavender, Nettle, Parsley, Marshmallow Root, Hibiscus, Rosemary, and Lemon Peel. All ingredients are organic.

I use this paired with my Shampoo bar, and it gets all the residue out of my hair left from the soap bar. We have really hard water where we live and this has helped keep my hair soft, clean, and bring out my natural highlights.
