Wear around the edges of the cover, and wear in general. When you open the book, you can see how the cover is loosening from the spine a bit, but it's still pretty attached - you'll be able to read the book with no problem (unless you start tugging away on the cover).

Here is an enchanting family story of the 1820s in New England, a cheerful, human story, full of people--Mitty and her cousin Lucy, and Dick, a youthful hero, their grandparents, aunts, cousins, friends, and neighbours. The whole feeling of the story is delightfully genuine and against a quiet background the small events of the children's lives in a small town develop naturally and persuasively into a plot strong enough to rouse and hold interest, and vital because it reflects so well experiences common to all children. The telling has a graceful simplicity and spontaneity, as rare as they are pleasant.
