Small and narrow leather collar made with thin vegetable-tanned bridle leather. Buckle is strongly hand-stitched. Five holes for adjustment. Excellent as a cat or miniature dog ID collar. For cat owners: this collar is not a "break away" type collar and can be used for walking.

IMPORTANT - How to measure your pet neck

Use a flexible measuring tape or a string and take the snug but not tight measurement of the middle neck (A). Measure twice for accuracy! Do not add extra space under tape, I will calculate how much to add to make the collar fit properly. If you want to order according to the measurement of an actual collar, please send me a picture of the collar on a flat surface with a ruler beside.

***If you have a KITTEN, I recommend to wait until the cat be almost adult or you might want to refer to an adult parent for a guesstimation at your own risk.

All items are made by hand in my workshop. Leather is hand-picked, cut, edges are rounded, creased and burnished. I use the finest English bridle leather produced in England by the prestigious firm of J.E Sedgwick. Traditionally pit-tanned, and re-tanned with Sumac giving a full vegetable tannage. Hand stained and curried with cod liver oil, tallow and substantial amount of fats. This process produces the highest quality of leather and provides a flexible, supple, durable product with a superb finish.

Brass and nickel silver will get a patina over time; I dont use any varnish on the metal.
Solid brass will tarnish and turn browish (a bit like bronze), it will not keep a shiny gold color. It may stain white fur.
Nickel silver does very slowly tarnish to a matte greyish color.
They are both medium hardness metal, they are much more durable than aluminium or copper but not as hard as stainless steel, so they will take marks and scratches over time.
I use thick stock of 14 gauge (1.63mm) for most tags, smaller 3/4'' are thinner at 16 gauge (1.29mm).

Tag care:
Do not use soap or metal cleaner to wash your tag, it can remove the black in the lettering. You can use a dry or wet rag to remove dirt.

I bought a leather collar similar to these thin leather collars for small dogs and cats years ago which i loved and wanted to replace. I have to say the leather quality used for the small Leather buckle collar for cats or miniature dogs - was not what I expected. It was not a bridle leather as was the first collar I purchased. The collar is well made and the personalized name plate is beautiful.
