They say we eat with our eyes as well as our mouth. Then this beautifully written and photographed book is a veritable feast! The photos lead you to mouthwatering, lip-smacking, sometimes surprising recipes. When I evaluate a chef at a new restaurant or the author of a cookbook’s chops, i always choose or order the simplest, most purest item on the menu / table of contents. For instance, If I go to a new Italian restaurant I order spaghetti with marinara sauce. Few ingredients / delicate flavors, perfectly made. No hiding behind simple, straight-forward tastes. With that in mind…the first recipe I made was a fried egg…sunny side up. Sounds stupid simple but there’s something about Lisa’s process that produces the most heavenly experience. The grandkids agree! Bring on the tiramisu and other never before tried recipes!!
