Sunflowers shift their gaze throughout the day following the sun. Tall, elegant and friendly, the sunflower also has a hidden strength: the ability to clean and heal the soil. As the sunflower quickly grows, it is able to absorb contaminants from oil to lead, even radiation.
Resilient and transformative, the sunflower can communicate messages of hope, joy, strength and healing. The original woodblock print of this sunflower was created by Julie de Graag in 1917, and is part of the Rijksmuseum collection in Amsterdam. The black lines on kraft cardstock convey simplicity, strength and elegance.
