All of the full sized pattern pieces you need and fully illustrated instructions to make my popular Kindle Fire Cover Stand for the original HD 7 inch. This is simply the most secure and professional cover you can make.
This is sized specifically for the HD 7 and is custom fitted to that tablet. It includes camera and speaker openings as well as access to all of the outlets.
Tools and Materials list:
◊Cutting mat, 1” rotary cutter, or scissors and a craft knife
◊Quilters rulers (one that is at least 12” long and it needs to have 1/8” marks.)

◊Tape for taping pattern pieces
◊Small, pointy scissors
◊Small, 1/8” hole punch
◊Fray Check (found in the notions aisle of JoAnn’s)
◊You will need a block of wood to stand-in for your tablet when you are ironing the cover. The block should be solid hardwood, not particle board, not treated. You will be ironing on it, so you don’t want any chemicals or oils. The thickness needs to be: 7/16”, the length: 7 5/8”, and the width: 5 3/8”. Edges all sanded to slightly round. ◊Walking foot on your sewing machine
◊Steam iron and ironing board
Stabilizer:
◊1/3 yard of Peltex 71F Ultra firm one-sided fusible, it comes 20 inches wide ◊1/8 yard or a scrap that is 7.25” square of single sided fusible interfacing medium to “décor bond” weight.
Fabric:
◊1/2 yard. I use quilting cottons. You can use a home décor cotton for the outer cover. Do not use heavier fabrics for the inside of the case.
Notions:
◊Velcro—5/8” or 3/4” wide, you need 5” long
◊Picture Framing Mat Board: 8” by 10” piece. Cut it in 2 pieces, both 7.5” long; one 1.75” wide, and one 3.625” (3 5/8) wide.
