Description

Perfect to keep on hand for a thank you note, birthday card, Mother’s Day card or for any special occasion, these playful notecards are blank inside for your special message. You can also frame them (three together in a triptych look great!) or use them as a sweet gift for a gardener, nature lover or any who appreciates a little whimsy.

PICK YOUR CHOICE of any 6 notecards from my shop and save $4.50 off the cost of buying them individually.

HOW TO ORDER: add this listing to your cart. In the notes to seller, list the 6 cards you would like and their quantity. (Use the names of each design from the photos.) For example:

3 x Birthday
1 x Love
2 x Bride

Can’t decide which ones you want? Let me know and I will mix and match a set of my best-selling cards.

These figures were not drawn, painted or computer-enhanced; they were made only from botanicals from my garden, then scanned by a professional printing house and printed onto 100# Cougar Natural Smooth Cover card stock, which is Forest Stewardship Council certified recycled card stock. Each card measures approximately 4.25 x 5.5, and comes with a matching A2 envelope and an explanation of the botanicals used on the back.

I hope you enjoy the whimsy and feel the love!

-------------> The story behind Petal People cards:

My father gasped when I showed him “some weird-looking flowers” that I had picked from deep in the woods. They turned out to be endangered Lady’s Slippers. Cradling them in my palms, I gently placed them into the pages of the fattest book I found so that, once pressed, I could examine their curious petals.

And so began my fascination with pressing flowers. That was more than, er, 35 years ago and I haven't stopped being intrigued and inspired by the colors, shapes and textures of pressed flowers. When I made my first pressed flower art figure in 2009, I was enchanted. I dubbed them Petal People and printed my favorite images onto notecards. Don't like what you see? Come back often as I introduce many new designs every year.

FAQs

I ship every day, Monday through Friday, via USPS First Class mail. I wait until the afternoon to take orders to the post office to capture as many orders as I can. (But I will go early in the day if my customer has a time issue like an Express Mail drop-off.) So it may take as long as 24 hours for your package to be shipped but it is often much less. And if you want to know a little secret, I live within walking distance from a post office so sometimes, and especially on nice days or if I have an errand to run, I will make a second trip to mail something if I get a sale late in the day. I often ship on Saturdays, especially if it's a beautiful day to get outside!
I do not wholesale my plantable products but I do wholesale my Petal People pressed flower art cards. Please inquire for more information.
Because of customs regulations for shipping live seeds to other countries, I do not offer international shipping on my plantable products but do ship my Petal People cards internationally.
Because I get so many donation requests, I have had to limit those charities to whom I donate. I now only donate locally, and to companies and charities with whom my family is directly involved.
Yes! However, I am very selective who I give my products to, and I don't give them very often. I will need proof of a certain amount of consistent readership, as well as evidence of cross-promotion on social media, and a well-established presence in either the crafting world, wedding market or another audience that hits my target customer base.
When I package up an order, I print a shipping label in my studio. Once the label is printed, an email is automatically sent with tracking info, but your package has not been shipped yet. When I drop off the package at the post office, it is scanned with the postal gun. The postal folks don't transfer that information from the gun to their computer system until after 5 pm when they upload the scans into their computer. It can still take a few more hours for tracking info to appear on the website. If you have been sent an email with tracking but it isn't showing up, just check back a few hours later or the next day.
