Finding this guy wasn't easy. As we drove the road to Cooke City from Mammoth, I saw the tip of his antlers on the side of a hill. I knew he was large by the distance the points were apart. Ultimately, I gave up, and started to climb through the snow to capture his image on the camera. At the same time, he had decided to get up and wander to the tree you see in the picture.

With the ground covered with at least 3 feet of snow, the best place for him to eat was the bark and branches of the tree. So, while he was eating, I took pictures. One of the park rangers compares their winter diet to humans eating paper. The image in the picture doesn't reflect his thoughts about his dinner.

He is also available in 5 x 7 for $15 and 12 x 16 for $45.
