Here's a wonderful piece of Quartz over Amethyst from me and my girlfriend's Amethyst find last fall. This specimen came from pocket #5, which was the largest out of 8 and produced a variety of wacky combos like this. I love how it displays a really cool bubble shape! There's also some micro tabular quartz crystals connecting where a root grew through the crystals!

This find was unique because an Amethyst/Quartz pocket find like this hasn't happened here since the 1980s when the area was developed. Nowadays most people find crumbly Amethyst scraps or veins that are not well crystallized. But what we found was a series of pockets that produced a wide variety of Quartz, Amethyst, Smoky Quartz, combinations of all 3, some with Hematite, some with agate and more rare zeolite finds.

***The location this was collected at is a privately owned place that is now closed to public collectors with the exception of 10 people, myself included. ***
