Illustrated science book on the Antikythera Mechanism.
The main idea of this book is to present in an understandable and concise way information about this special archaeological object, using a different expressive medium, the comic. The combination of the sketch with the text aims to make the content more attractive to those who find the colorless pages of a book boring, but also to enrich and clarify the information by visualizing it.
Its creator, A. Tourtas, is an active member of the Antikythera Mechanism research team of the AUTH, is a diving archaeologist and took part in the underwater excavations at the Antikythera wreck in the period 2012-2017. He is also a member of the "Museolab" laboratory of the Department of Cultural Informatics and Communication, University of the Aegean, where he is preparing his post-doctoral research on the use of comics in the communication of scientific information with the public.
