The eye is smaller than the typical hatchet eyes, so either you carve your own handle or you can use the 18” Vaughan 61282 adze eye hammer handle, which is just slightly larger than the eye of this hatchet. Overall I am very pleased with this hatchet. It will make lightweight but very effective outdoors or bushcraft hatchet. It would be more capable than most tomahawks for almost any outdoors tasks, except for throwing. Highly recommend both this item and the seller!”
