Functional Art! Wear a miniquilt out!

As each is normally individually made to order, please allow for a LITTLE artistic license in the free machine embroidery and general flower placement, but the flowers will be of the same number, color and size. Notice that the closure has changed from left to right on this model. This particular one has a green with red floral and a red pocket. As always my work is satisfaction guaranteed!! Please check out the feedback on my purses!! I just completed this one and had a picture of the original holding its place until I completed it. The one you see in these photos is the one you will receive right now.

The story of my Poppy Wristlet: In response to our EtsyFAST team challenge, Heroes, I could not but help think of our fallen heroes, servicemen and women of this war and wars past. That in turn brought to mind an old poem, "In Flanders Fields". If you are not familiar with it, you can read the moving story surrounding the poem here:

Item Description: This wristlet is a linen blend with wool blend felt appliques, machine applique and free machine embroidery--all done without a pattern. I cut the cotton applique by hand and free machine embroidered it down to the linen. I chose a cotton of pretty contrasting green for the applique and a green and red quality cotton for the lining and placed a red pocket trimmed in grosgrain ribbon inside for your keys or cellphone. The zipper clip is a wool felt bead with Swarovski crystals, a funky imported bead and a czech crystal dangle all wirewrapped together.

There are lots of special details and the piece is signed by hand with free machine embroidery among the poppies as well. For those unaccustomed to the term, "free machine embroidery", it is guiding the fabric without benefit of my sewing machine's feed dogs (the little teeth that move the fabric). This takes patience and practice to learn well!

The dimensions of the wristlet, excluding the strap is 8 inches X 6 1\/2 inches. The strap is 5\/8 inches wide and extends about 7 inches from purse.
