This lovely set of 6 Montagnani style demitasse spoons were made in Italy and I would date them somewhere between the early 1900's to the 1950's--I am unsure of an exact date. They are expertly crafted on both sides with white brass with ornate heraldic figures as a cherub, a lion with a staff, 3 griffins and a winged lion on a smallest sized spoon. The spoon bowls look like they may be silver or silver plate, and I will leave their metal content to be determined by their new owner's expertise. Each charming piece has been ornately decorated with boughs and flower flourishes.

Gino Montagnani created silverware of this type such as of hors d' oeurves forks, demitasse spoons, and other serving utensils. I believe he made these, but they are only marked 'Italy' on the back of the spoons. These spoons are in very good condition and have light use for their vintage age. Their dimensions vary but are about 5" in length and 1" in width. The smaller spoon is 4" long.

They will excellently grace your tea or coffee service, dessert or party and would add an antique Old World decor to any table or collection. They would also make the perfect hostess gift! Be sure to check my Montagnani hor d'oeuvres fork lot listing at Mermaidsnet as well, for a fabulous set!
