Striking French antique crucifix with holy water font, 19th century.
An expressive metal Christ figure and champleve enamel/bronze doré cross are supported by colorful and richly veined carved green onyx with brass backing.
Condition is good, however there is a crack that runs across the onyx. Fortunately, it's well disguised as it resembles one of the many veins that also run through the stone. The holy water font or benitier lid opens and closes properly.
Measures 11.5 x 7 inches.
