Description

Looking for the finishing touch for your medieval ensemble? Need outerwear to go with a Regency or Victorian outfit? Want to look like you stepped out of a fairy tale? This capelet will work for many different costumes. It would look at home in Sherwood Forest or on Diagon Alley, with a Jane Austen gown or a Steampunk suit.

This PDF tutorial will help you to make your own full circle capelet with a stand-up collar. It is fully lined and closes with a clasp or ribbon ties in front.

It includes everything you need; materials list for five different capelet lengths, step-by-step instructions fully illustrated with photographs (see examples), and a full sized collar pattern.

Simple machine sewing is all that is required (although it can be completed by hand) and the directions are simple and easy to follow. It does help if you have prior sewing experience. This is my own original pattern.

This pattern is for home use only.

***This is an epattern. No paper pattern will be shipped to you. Instead, the pattern will be available for instant download after purchase.***

If you are interested in ready-to-wear capelets, check out my other listings.

This PDF pattern is available for instant download following purchase. Due to this fact, no refunds will be given. Simply click “Download Files” on the upper right side of your receipt. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Cheers!

This is not at all what I expected. The cape pattern consisted of a templet to cut a neck hole, size unknown and I think half of what appeared to be a hand drawn collar. Again size unknown. There was no pattern for a cape nor were there the normal pattern instructions. There were photographs with what I considered to be vague instructions of how to assemble the various capes. I am not an avid seamstress and couldn’t make heads or tails out of it. I contacted seller first,no response, though seller originally promptly responded to questions before I made my purchase. So I contacted PayPal. PayPal reviewed the case, ruled in my favor and promptly issued a refund.

I always hate to disappoint a customer. I tried hard to answer all of her questions and help in any way I could. I believe most of her frustration had to do with the fact that the tutorial was a pdf and not a paper pattern. Once I explained this I didn't hear back from her. I tried to describe the item fully and accurately in the listing, but I will try harder in the future to make my listings even clearer. This customer has been issued a full refund.

FAQs

The best way to measure your head is to go across your forehead and just above your ears. You want to measure around the largest part of the head.
I accept returns. Please contact me before sending an item back. Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value. There is a 50% restocking fee for returns on custom made items. There is a 25% restocking fee for costume items purchased during September and October and returned after Halloween. Refunds will be issued to the account which made the purchase.
I can ship to any country, but it is the buyer's responsibility to find out about any fees, import taxes, or regulations regarding importing (this especially applies to feathers). I do not know the laws or import fees for each county and can't be held responsible for policies set by your government.
Shipping varies by destination, with shipments to some counties taking two to three weeks to arrive. Sometimes packages are held at local post offices and customers must pick them up in person and pay an import tax. This varies by country. Sometimes your post office notifies you and sometimes they don't. It is a good idea to track the package yourself (go to the You section of Etsy, select Purchases and Reviews, and hit the Track Package button) and check with your post office when you see that it has arrived. I have no control over this and can't help if your post office holds your package or charges a fee.
Priority Mail and Express Mail (both domestic and international) include insurance. First Class Mail (both domestic and international) does not. If you are worried that your package may not arrive safely, please choose a mail option with insurance. I am not responsible for lost packages once they have been accepted by the US Postal Service.
