This popular yet unique print features an extraordinary octopus (aka the attackin' kraken), overtaking an old ship. From an 1804 illustration, this giant octopus is the stuff that centuries old Norwegian sagas are made of.

I love this print. It is a great conversation piece. "My life is like the ship in that poster" or, "I woke up feeling like the Kraken today". I feel for the Kraken. It has its tentacles full of what it wanted, but isn't quite sure how to proceed - or if it really and truly wanted an entire merchant vessel in the first place.

Though I have carefully selected all of my papers to give the best results for the works I offer, I highly recommend the watercolor for this print. It is a 100% cotton rag, heavy weight paper that offers excellent detail and rich color and in addition, lends to the vintage feel of this piece.

Adam's Ale art prints are made using a 12 color process fine art printer to insure the most vivid, detailed and long lasting prints.

Adam's Ale Art Print papers are heavyweight, acid free museum quality papers.
Both papers result in a high detail and richly colored print.
Matte: Smooth, non-glare paper. The finish is soft and silky to the touch with excellent detail.
Watercolor: A Slightly textured paper that lends a vintage feel to the prints. Though it's textured, it will give excellent detail and rich color.

If you have anymore questions, please message me.

If you are ordering prints with wording or captions, the captions for all prints fall within the area measurement of the print(s) that you are purchasing. If you prefer your captions outside of the area so that only the art of the print fills the area (captions will still be there but on the outside of the area) please let me know in the message to seller box at checkout.

My prints have an extra .25" white border on all sides in addition the measurement size. If you prefer your prints without the border please let me know in the notes to seller at checkout.

All prints are sealed in cellophane and mailed in a sturdy tube, or a cardboard envelope with chipboard reinforcement. Your print will arrive safe or I will replace it.

Mats and frames are not included.

Any watermarks shown in listing photos will not be on your print.

Frequently asked questions about AdamsAleArtPrints

With the exception of my Ernst Haeckel prints, I can change the colors and backgrounds of most of my prints. In addition, if you want a size that I don't have listed, please message me here. Chances are I can make your size.

If I don't have it, ask me for it, especially my gold foil maps. I can make almost any city or town!
Most of my prints have an extra .25" of white space on each side. This I'd so you can scoot your print under the mat for perfect placement and tape it down on the back of the mat (with acid free tape). If you don't want the extra space, let me know and I will remove it.
My papers are archival and my inks are long lasting pigments so your prints will last a long time. Still, it's a good idea to keep them out of direct sunlight.

My canvas prints are coated with a UV ray protectant that also protects your canvas art from scratching and discoloration. If you get something on your canvas print, please only use water and a very very soft cloth to clean it. If you absolutely must, dab a little palmolive and water on your soft cloth to clean the spot.
I also sell through Etsy wholesale! If you are interested in wholesale pricing and aren't a member of Etsy wholesale, please message me here at my shop.
I accept returns and exchanges. Because each print is made to order, I may charge a 25% restocking fee. Thank you. If the order has been damaged in transit, please message me with photos of damaged goods. I will replace items damaged in transit.
Because gallery wrapped canvas prints are expensive to make and expensive to ship, please be certain of your purchase. If you are unsure of your color choices, please message me for a mockup featuring your colors. The first mockup is free of charge.
I combine shipping to save you money if two different orders are going to the same address. Please message me to let me know that you've made seperate orders. In single orders of more than one item shipping costs will also be greatly reduced for the second and all following items.
