Is it coral? Or is it a tree branch? Natural growth processes have been an inspiration for the shape of this wooden wall clock. At the place of every hour, there is a tiny bulb, indicating the time. The side of the wood is black, resulting in beautiful depth and contrast.

The wood has been sanded. Battery (1x AA) not included. The clock produces a soft ticking sound.

Corals are marine animals in class Anthozoa of phylum Cnidaria typically living in compact colonies of many identical individual "polyps". The group includes the important reef builders that inhabit tropical oceans and secrete calcium carbonate to form a hard skeleton.

Although corals can catch small fish and plankton, using stinging cells on their tentacles, most corals obtain the majority of their energy and nutrients from photosynthetic unicellular algae called zooxanthellae that live within the coral's tissue. Such corals require sunlight and grow in clear, shallow water, typically at depths shallower than 60 metres (200 ft). Corals can be major contributors to the physical structure of the coral reefs that develop in tropical and subtropical waters, such as the enormous Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Queensland, Australia. Other corals do not have associated algae and can live in much deeper water, with the cold-water genus Lophelia surviving as deep as 3,000 metres (9,800 ft). Examples live on the Darwin Mounds located north-west of Cape Wrath, Scotland. Corals have also been found off the coast of the U.S. in Washington State and the Aleutian Islands in Alaska.

It says large wall clock. It is small clock. The clock black mechanism did not adjust properly at the back. Made of sawdust. Not real wood. The clock hands are too thin and bend easily. Not worth the price. Extremely disappointed.

Response from Anja

Dear N, we are sorry to hear you are disappointed by the clock. The size of the clock in cm and inches is mentioned in the listing. It is larger than the other Coral clock we offer, thus the specification 'small/large'. Also, the type of wood (birch) is specified and in the pictures you clearly see the thickness. The clock hands do bend easily, because they need to be light. For this reason, we explain in the manual how you can straighten them after shipping, before attaching to the clock. We assume that when they are attached, there is no need to touch the hands, so no reason for them to bend. We are happy to hear you received the clock though, because it took us a lot of time and effort to get it to you, after you supplied an invalid address and the package was returned to us. Still wishing you the best.

This clock was everything that I expected, and more! I love it! The craftsmanship is outstanding and very interesting. I just know that no one else that I will ever come across will ever have this clock! I live on the beach and this clock is very beach-y looking, although I don't have it in a room with a beach theme. It is hung just over my sliding glass door view of the beach and ocean! Thank you so much! I WILL share my secret of who made the clock for me with others, even though I don't want anyone else to have one! You did a great job and you deserve the business. Martha
