This is an unpublished proof of "Watchman Tell us of the Night" by A. B. Paulson. The novel was printed by Viking in 1985. This edition is in excellent condition. I picked up this copy while working at the English dept of the University of MT. Some materials that had been sent as part of post graduate study programs (including this proof) had been offered to the students since the dept didn't want them anymore.
The blurb inside the cover describes the novel as "zany, sexy, quintessentially American, a comic novel about life in the suburbs". The novel tells the story of characters such as suburban housewife Lindsay Wyatt and minimalist artist Garth Erickson. It is described as "part bedroom farce, part comedy of manners, and part social commentary".
