Are these really handmade?

Yes. Every piece is hand-carved from a single solid timber by our own family workshop, Kammika, in Thailand. We are the makers — not resellers.

Why does mine have cracks, knots, or tool marks?

Because it's real solid wood, shaped by hand. Those are natural character and the mark of a person's tools — not defects. It's why no two pieces are ever alike.

Solid monkeypod (Samanea saman), a tropical hardwood in the same family as acacia and koa; in Thailand we call it Jumjaree. Kiln-dried, hand-finished in oil.

A hand-carved solid wood side table — two continuous spirals cut from a single column of monkeypod, so the grain winds twice around the pedestal. It works beside a sofa, at the bedside, or as a pedestal for a lamp or plant.
NO TWO ARE ALIKE — AND THAT'S THE POINT
Each piece is hand-carved from a single column of solid monkeypod (Samanea saman), known in Thailand as Jumjaree. Because it's cut by hand from one timber, the grain chases the curve and the light never falls the same way twice.
Expect character: cracks, checking, knots, natural inclusions, and the marks of the tools that shaped it. These aren't damage — they're what real solid wood does as it dries, and they're the proof a person made this, not a machine. Kiln-dried, no chemical treatment, finished by hand in a hand-rubbed oil and sealed with a matte clear coat.
