Pretty gold tone bow pin measuring a little over 2" across. The mark on the safety catch is A*D. There is a tiny plaque on the underside that I can't read even with magnification. What I can read appears to be _M_DOUBL_. Even at that, some of those letters are guesswork.

Most of the AD jewelry was made in rolled gold so it might be safe to assume that this is rolled gold as well. The 'ribbons' are hollow. It weighs 5.3g.

The safety catch is a very unusual one and I am not 100% sure that the safety part is in perfect working order. Overall, because of wear patina, I would rate this brooch as being in very good condition.

Founded in 1870, Andreas Daub Company perfected the method for creating high quality rolled gold jewelry and played an integral part in many forward thinking jewelry production patents of both the 19th and 20th centuries. The company is still in business and family run today with locations in Germany, France and England.
